Scientific research

Alain Bonardi is both a researcher and an artist. He has been exploring performance arts, mainly opera, but also theatre in the perspective of computer science, especially artificial intelligence. He also is a composer.

His researches are deeply linked to musical composition (chamber opera Du/Tri-plicata – scolarship of Beaumarchais association, open form opera Alma Sola).

Senior lecturer at Paris 8 University, Alain Bonardi is an engineer diplomed from Ecole Polytechnique, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télecommunications de Paris. He also has a Ph.D in musicology from Paris 4 University.

Since 1998, Alain Bonardi has published in four journals with reading comittees (among them two international journals), in thirty six conferences with reading comittees (twenty four international ones and twelve in France), as well as two books or book chapters.

Alain Bonardi has been in CNRS delegation at Ircam since september 2006. His research at Ircam deals on the one hand with performance classification by artificial intelligence techniques (RealTime Team) and on the other hand the description of signal processing patches (european project Caspar).
